Xiaomi on Monday announced it had shipped 1.75 million units of the Redmi Note 3 in just five months. The company also pointed to a recent IDC report that said it had shipped 880,000 units of the smartphone in the online channel in Q2 2016 – which it claims is almost twice the volume of the next-highest shipped smartphone in India during the period.

The Chinese company quotes Karthik J, Senior Market Analyst, Client Devices, IDC India, to say, “Redmi Note 3 was not only the top selling model in online channel but also a star product for the vendor contributing to the majority of Xiaomi’s total shipments in Q2 2016.”

A separate IDC statement quoted by Xiaomi adds, “Redmi Note 3 is the single highest-shipped smartphone ever in the history of India’s online market in any given quarter.”

To recall, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (Review) was launched in India in March.

Xiaomi entered the Indian market in July 2014, and in the two years till July 2016, the company claims to have enjoyed a 72 percent year-on-year growth rate in terms of smartphone sales in the country.

Micromax’s Yu Televentures subsidiary has launched two new smartphones in India – the Yunique Plus and Yureka S.Yu says both new smartphones are now available via retail stores across the country. The Yunique Plus is priced at Rs. 6,999, while the Yu Yureka S is priced at Rs. 12,999.

The Yu Yunique Plus is a dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. It features a 4.7-inch (720×1280 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor coupled with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB RAM. It comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage and can be expandable up to 32GB using microSD card. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and an f/2.0 aperture. There is a 2-megapixel front camera on board as well. It supports GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G, Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi connectivity options. Notably, both the SIM cards support 4G. It is backed by a 2000mAh battery.

The Yu Yureka S, on the other hand, features a 5.2-inch (1080×1920 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection from scratches. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.1GHz coupled with 3GB of RAM. It supports 16GB of inbuilt storage and comes with hybrid SIM slot.

It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and also features the company’s Around Yu, a service aggregator platform that was introduced last year alongside the Yutopia flagship. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, and also comes with full-HD video recording support. It sports a 5-megapixel front camera. The handset supports 4G LTE alongside other connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 3000mAh battery.

After launching the M535+ in July, InFocus now appears set to launch the Bingo 50+ in India. The smartphone is listed on the company’s official site, but the price and availability of the InFocus Bingo 50+ remains unknown.

Going by the name, the Bingo 50+ is an upgrade to theInFocus Bingo 50 that was launched earlier this year. The Bingo 50 was launched at a price of Rs. 7,499 and was made available exclusively on Snapdeal. The Bingo 50+ not only sees upgrades in the specifications department, but is also seen sporting a metal body. In comparison, the Bingo 50 (Read our review here) had matte metal sides, with options of fake leather or sandpaper finishes for the rear cover panel.

As for the specifications, the Bingo 50+ supports a hybrid dual-SIM (Nano + Nano) slot, and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company’s Infinite UI 2.0 skin atop. It features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. It offers 16GB of inbuilt storage, with the option to expand via microSD card (up to 64GB).

Optics include a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, full-HD video recording, HDR mode, and autofocus. There is also an 8-megapixel selfie camera on board. It packs a 2600mAh battery that claims to last up to 12 hours of talk time, and 480 hours of standby time. The company claims that the InFocus Bingo 50+ can play music for 58 hours on single charge, and play video for 6.9 hours continuously. Connectivity options include GSM, WCDMA, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, FM radio, USB OTG, and 3.5mm audio jack.

The InFocus Bingo 50+ houses an accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor. The dimensions are at 156×76.8×7.25mm, and the smartphone will be made available in Gold and Silver colour variants.
